South East Asian Alumni Workshop on "Policies and Strategies to Mitigate Climate Change and Energy Poverty in South East Asia"
From 5th to 9th October 2009, the SESAM/ARTES Alumni in Vietnam organised a Workshop for South East Asian and Chinese alumni on "Policies and Strategies to Mitigate Climate Change and Energy Poverty in South East Asia", continuing the series of SESAM/ARTES Alumni Workshop supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The workshop particpants also launched the "German-Asian Alumni Network for Energy and Sustainability" (GANES). The objective of GANES is to contribute towards the adaptation to and mitigation of climate change and the alleviation of energy poverty in Asia by supporting the networking of German trained experts in energy and sustainability. The network will be open to all Asian alumni of German Universities, who work in the field of energy and sustainability. A preliminary board has been elected and mandated to register the network within the next 6 months.
