Educational science with a focus on gender studies
Upbringing, education and socialisation processes as well as pedagogical thinking and action take place in the context of social relations of difference and power, which also include gender relations. At the Department of Educational Science with a focus on gender studies, corresponding relationships are analysed theoretically and empirically. This is based on an understanding of gender as a cultural construct, the production of which must be addressed against the background of various theoretical approaches (including social constructivism, discourse analysis, subject theories). The empirical research at the department is situated within the framework of a qualitative-reconstructive methodology.
