Concept
As part of the counseling sessions, we first clarify your assignment. In line with the empowerment concept, we provide scientifically sound knowledge based on individual questions, for example on the specific needs of gifted children and adolescents. Our clients are supported in a solution-oriented manner as part of the consultation, so that everyday implementation can be made possible.
Collegial case discussions are held regularly in order to clarify questions that could not be satisfactorily answered in conversation within the counseling center team. We are also professionally networked both regionally and nationally.
In some cases, it makes sense to carry out an in-depth diagnostic assessment (e.g. intelligence or motivation diagnostics) in order to better assess which type of support is appropriate for the student. In order to guarantee the quality of the diagnostics, test supervisors regularly take part in further training and supervision. Only procedures that are in line with the latest research and test methodology are used.
Seminars and workshops for parents and adolescents are offered in addition to counseling sessions. This setting offers more time to explore topics in detail. Participants also benefit from peer exchange and the opportunity to network.

The members of the German Society for the Highly Gifted Child Regional Association Schleswig-Holstein are primarily parents of gifted children. The society advocates "educational policies that provide a setting that enables gifted people to develop their potential". In addition to counseling services for parents, children and teachers, lectures and training courses are offered and the topic of giftedness is brought to the public.

Performance makes school
The nationwide initiative "Performance makes school" is based on the guiding principle of recognizing and promoting the strengths of all students in regular lessons. In the first phase of the project (2018-2023), researchers and teachers developed material, such as support material for lessons. This material will be tested in the classroom in a transfer phase (2023-27). Schools in Schleswig-Holstein are involved in this process. The material will be available to all schools nationwide.

E-learning: Discovering and accompanying the educational movements of children and adolescents
The e-learning program is free of charge and can be completed with a certificate. It provides pedagogical specialists and teachers as well as trainers and educators with knowledge about different areas of gifted education.
