High intelligence shows itself, for example, as linguistic ability or the ability to think analytically and abstractly. Gifted children and adolescents often have special (learning) needs to be dealt with educationally at daycare and school. There may also be special features in their experience and behavior that parents usually notice more than others.
High intelligence does not always lead to problems. However, it can happen that gifted children and adolescents develop a level of distress that can also be related to their giftedness. We support children, adolescents, parents and teachers if they have questions or problems in connection with giftedness.
