Clinical child psychology in the training of primary school teachers
Despite the high prevalence of psychological problems and disorders in children and adolescents, the psychotherapeutic care situation for this age group is inadequate. Symptoms of internalizing and externalizing disorders often also affect success at school and can have a negative impact on teaching. The teacher training standards of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs include skills for dealing with various aspects of heterogeneous learning requirements. The proportion of clinical-psychological content is examined with the help of an analysis of module descriptions of the educational science courses at training institutions for primary school teachers in Germany. Desiderata for an expansion of clinical-psychological qualification content for primary school teachers are outlined.
