Teaching and pedagogical action in case of symptoms of depression
Depression in children and adolescents can manifest itself in cognitive, emotional, somatic and behavioral symptoms. Due to their prevalence and impact on a child's development, teachers can play a significant role in everyday school life. Cognitive-behavioral methods and methods for behavioral activation have also proven their worth in educational contexts. With the help of guided expert interviews with n=31 clinic teachers, special features of teaching for this target group, preparation of lessons and their disorder-related goals, the frequency of stressful symptoms, important methods of lesson design, developmental desiderata and recommendations for action for teachers at general schools were collected, quantitatively descriptively reproduced and discussed.
