Marisa McMahon received her BA in Liberal Arts and History from Queens
University Belfast in 2009 where she also completed a MEd in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion (2013). In 2012 she achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Practice Management in Community Leadership through the University of Ulster and currently works for a Human Rights NGO as a Coalitions Coordinator on the issue of housing and land justice within the North of Ireland.
With a passion for human rights and social change she has over 15 years’
experience in advocacy, campaigning, researching + practicing strategy and policy, communications and campaign formulation, as well as lobbying for the rights of marginalised people in Ireland as well as internationally. She is completing her PhD through the European Wasatia Graduate School for Peace and Conflict Resolution under the supervision of Prof Dr Michelle Witen with a thesis on Northern Irish Post-Troubles literature.
