Johanna L. Degen, PhD, is a social psychologist affiliated at Europa-Universität Flensburg, Germany. She is a post doctoral research fellow at the University of Verona and BI Oslo. In a critical psychology tradition, her research focuses on subjects' navigations through various social settings and contexts, including a focus on visual data and qualitative methods. In her PhD she demonstrated the multiple negative effects of Diversity Management from the generalized subjects’ stance in the European economy. Today she leads two projects, a research project about relationship constellations and (online) dating and a knowledge transfer project about teacher’s qualifications in sex and relationship education (Teach LOVE). Alongside her research, she works as a couple’s counsellor, where she integrates theory and practice, explores contemporary relationships and relationship constellations, and collects data for research purposes. In her habilitation she is theorizing love under the (working) title "Whats (left of) LOVE".
