There are some requirements generally recognized to be neccesary for maintaining voter's Trust in "the System" during elections' processes in democratic countries; things like Independency of the institution organizing the elections, equal Media time and resources for candidates campaigns, the perception that you can influence the policies of a government through your vote, the assurance that you are not going to be discriminated for your political beliefs, etc.
But what happens when some of those requirements are not there? How do these lack of rquirements influence the decision of going to vote or to abstain?
The objective of this project is to create an agent model to simulate this decision making under less than optimal elections processes.
