Apply - Transcultural European Studies

Applications and admission to the Transcultural European Studies (TES) program

In general, you can apply to any of the program’s three partner universities (Europa-Universität Flensburg - EUF, Universidad de Málaga - UMA, and Université de Strasbourg – Unistra – but please keep in mind the language requirements. You should apply to the university where you wish to start the program.

Each of these three universities can accept 20 students per academic year, which starts every fall semester.

Please be aware of the different application deadlines and procedures at each university.

Application FAQs - Transcultural European Studies

  • General university entrance qualification (Abitur, Baccalauréat, Bacchillerato, etc.)
  • Language skills:
    • German (EUF) / French (Unistra) / Spanish (UMA): Mother tongue or at least C1 (CEFR)
    • 2nd foreign language (German, French or Spanish): minimum A1 (CEFR)

If you wish to prove your language skills using a certificate not recognized by one of these universities, please contact transcultural@uni-flensburg.de

  • Program starts: every September
  • Application deadlines:
    • EUF: May 15 - July 15
    • Unistra: mid-January - beginning of April
    • UMA: June (after passing the PEvAU)

Prospective students complete a 2-step process within the application period:

1.            Apply online via the online application portal.

2.            Upload all required application documents.

You can apply starting in June, after passing the PEvAU (Spanish Prueba de Evaluación del Bachillerato para Acceso a la Universidad).

Applications are part of a centralized admissions process for all Andalusian universities.

Applications are submitted via the central French application platform ParcourSup between mid-January and early April.

Despite being enrolled at all three partner universities, students only pay tuition and/or fees at the location where they are staying.

For study abroad, it is possible to apply for a mobility grant (e.g., through the Erasmus program).
