The head and deputy head of the department handle policy matters, prepare, implement, adjust, and monitor the university’s basic budget, and prepare its annual financial statements. They are also responsible for coordinating and supervising audits, tax consultancy, and matters involving the Court of Audit and other internal and external audit institutions.

In addition, they check the financial section of third-party funding requests and control the drawing down and spending reports for these funds. Finally, university tax matters and the management in the Central Budget and Planning Committee (ZHP) also fall into their area of responsibility.
