Profile

The Trinational Bachelor Plus program in Transcultural European Studies: Languages, Cultures, Interactions (TES) is an interdisciplinary program taught in German, French, and Spanish. Focused on Europe, the program emphasizes language, culture, literature, and media studies, as well as multilingual skills. The program is jointly offered and hosted by the Université de Strasbourg (Unistra), Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF), and the Universidad de Málaga (UMA).

Studying on site at these three prominent university locations, each situated in a different European border region, students gain in-depth knowledge of the past and present diversity of European cultural transfer processes. They also explore concepts of Europe mediated by culture, the intellectual history underpinning these ideas, and current cultural discourses on Europe in a global context.

The linguistic diversity of the program distinguishes it as a cross-border study option that aptly addresses the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe. Students are taught to engage with European cultural issues in an intercultural context, both theoretically and practically, in four European languages: German, French, Spanish, and English. The close integration of theory and extensive practical components ensures not only a broad theoretical qualification, but also a detailed practical orientation towards various career fields.
