Topics from the field of Comparative Political Economy are eligible for the bachelor thesis. The topic and the specific research question must first be clarified in a preliminary discussion with the supervisor.
Prerequisites
Interested students should have attended one or more courses of the department. Application deadlines are 01.03. for the spring term and 01.09. for the autumn term. Students must take care of the formal requirements for writing a Bachelor thesis (e. g. deadlines, registration) themselves.
Steps to complete the process
- The online form for the department must be completed.
- Visit a consultation hour with a supervisor of the department.
- Attend the department's BA/MA-Colloquium (not for EUCS and EUS) and present your work there.
- Write an expose (see guidelines).
- Register the thesis with the exam's office after the expose has been successfully discussed with your supervisor.
- Check the examination regulations for the thesis yourself in the PStO (duration, number of pages, etc.)
- Visit consultation hours if you have specific questions.
- Submit to exam's office (SPA IIM)

Topics in the area of Comparative Political Economy are eligible for the master's thesis. The topic and the specific research question must first be clarified in a preliminary discussion with the supervisor.
Requirements
The supervision of a master thesis in this department requires the following.
- A prerequisite is the attendance of the Research Seminar with Prof. Glassmann.
- Interested students should have previously attended courses in the department.
- Attendance of the Writing Workshop (Textlab!), where courses on scientific writing are offered, is recommended.
- In principle, students have to take care of the formal requirements for writing a master's thesis themselves (e.g. deadlines, registration).
