The SANSCHO project examines the current situation of school attendance and school absenteeism at schools in Schleswig-Holstein and nationwide. The project is divided into five different modules, each pursuing one goal:
Module 1: Document analysis on the current situation of school attendance problems and early school-leaving in Schleswig-Holstein and nationwide.
Module 2: Questionnaire survey in pre-/post-design (students, teachers, parents, others) of school attendance problems and dropouts in the different types of schools in Schleswig-Holstein as well as annual analysis of prevalences and distribution based on school data.
Module 3: Individual and group interviews for an in-depth analysis of expectations and assessments as well as the recording of subjective positions of relevant stakeholder groups with regard to the current situation of school attendance problems.
Module 4: Individual case analyzes to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current procedures for dealing with school dropouts in individual cases in Schleswig-Holstein and to derive needs for change and recommendations for school and extracurricular support systems.
Module 5: Scientific support and promotion of school development to optimize preventive and interventive school approaches to encourage attendance and school participation at selected schools.
The project will run for three and a half years (June 2024 - 31.12.2027) and is funded by the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
