Welcome to the website of the Department of Special Education in the Field of Learning (Dual Master)
Special education in the field of learning focuses on the particularities and difficulties in the learning process of children, adolescents and adults. It examines the conditions for designing teaching and learning processes for people with special needs.
An interdisciplinary approach is used to discuss and clarify issues in special education research. This approach incorporates theories, models, findings and methods from related disciplines, namely psychology, education (including general and subject didactics), sociology and neurobiology. It considers current international and national issues. Research and teaching focus on diagnostics, prevention, intervention, inclusion and counselling.
The department's staff teach in the Dual Master's Programme in Special Education, the first dual programme of its kind in general education in the country. Prospective teachers are trained to become experts in the individual support of children and adolescents, primarily in inclusive settings.
