The departments and work fields at the Institute of Special Education deal with a variety of issues from theory development, basic research, applied research and science-practice transfer. The various activities make an important contribution to the comprehensive participation of all people and to the reduction of barriers to educational and social participation.
Depending on the issues and focus of the research, both qualitative and quantitative-empirical as well as hermeneutic approaches are pursued.
