Language of instruction: German and Spanish
The Spanish course A2 is suitable for learners with beginner level. The course builds on the A1 course.
Using everyday conversation topics and situations, advanced beginner level Spanish grammar and vocabulary will be developed. The main topics covered in the course are: learning, health, food, professions: Learning, health, food, professions, the diary, city, historical data, home and travel.
In grammar, the following is covered, among others: The present indicative of regular verbs, irregular verbs, the reflexive verbs, frequency ("siempre, todos los días, muchas veces"), adverbs of quantity, the adjectives, genus of nouns, the impersonal forms with "se", the perfect tense (formation and use), irregular participles, evaluation, the time and dates, indications with reference to the future, question words. The course then focuses on understanding a radio report, giving a mini-presentation, writing and correcting a story, describing a picture, talking about proverbs etc.
The course takes place with 4 SWS during the lecture period and is designed so that the participants complete level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Regular and active participation is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course. This also requires the completion of homework in order to further practise and consolidate what has been learned.
The course consists of 60 attendance hours. Attendance is compulsory. If you want to have a certificate of achievement, you may not be absent for more than 12 lessons (20%). The final grade is made up of 30% class participation and 70% final exam.

The Spanish B1.2 course is suitable for learners with an advanced beginner level. The course builds on the B1.1 course.
Using everyday conversation topics and situations, the aim is to expand your basic knowledge of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. The following topics are mainly covered in the development of vocabulary:
In grammar, the following topics are covered, among others: The use of the simple conditional and the present subjunctive; speculation about different constellations in the future or expressing wishes and requests; different uses of the past indicative (in particular: Indefinite, imperfect and past perfect); complex use of (in)direct and prepositional objects; use of circumlocutions for a creative and variable style; expressing tastes, feelings, preferences, values and stating opinions in order to contrast them; comparing objects and evaluating them; impersonal and involuntary forms and describing events with the passive voice; interrogative and indirect sentences; expanding vocabulary in the areas of culture, society, education and economics.
The course takes place with 2 SWS during the lecture period and is designed so that participants complete level B1.1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The B2 Spanish course is suitable for learners with advanced basic knowledge. The course builds on the B1 course.
Using everyday conversation topics and situations, the aim is to develop advanced levels of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. The following topics are mainly dealt with in the development of word fields:
- understand longer speeches and lectures and also follow complex argumentation; understand most news programmes, current reports and feature films; communicate spontaneously and fluently and thus hold a normal conversation with a native speaker; actively participate in a discussion in familiar situations, justify and defend views; give a clear and detailed account on many topics from your areas of interest; explain a point of view on a current issue and give advantages and disadvantages of different possibilities; read and understand articles and reports on contemporary problems; understand contemporary literary prose texts; write clear and detailed texts on many topics; write discussions and arguments for and against a point of view; present in letters the meaning of events and experiences for you.
