Academic Background
Suat Alper Orhan is a research assistant and a PhD candidate at Europa-Universität Flensburg. His doctoral research revolves around the left-wing political parties in Western Europe and their positions on immigration and policy-making processes.
He completed his Master's Degree at EUF in European Studies, where his thesis focused on the radical right-wing parties in the United Kingdom and their economic and immigration policies. Prior to the M.A., he graduated from Koç University in Istanbul with a degree in International Relations and Political Science. He was a student assistant in a research project about non-state armed groups and international support during this period.
His research interests are left-wing political parties, populism, immigration and intra-party structures.
