As a research assistant in the Department of Political Science and Political Didactics, Carl Dewald is doing his doctorate in the field of authoritarianism and authoritarian formations within social movements. Building on the findings of his empirical studies on anti-Semitism at the Vienna Corona demonstrations in his Master's thesis, he is attempting to characterise the authoritarian potential of late-modern societies more precisely in the course of his dissertation project.

Carl Dewald studied business administration and political science in Mannheim (DHBW) and in Vienna (University of Vienna), and completed his Master's degree in socio-economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
