The Seminar for Media Education is located in the social and educational sciences with a focus on processes of mediatisation in society as a whole. Within this framework, a variety of different but interlocking research foci have developed: The critical perspective on digitalisation and mediatisation, in theory-based connection with education, society, school and culture, provides a fruitful basis for tracing social transformation processes and actively shaping future developments.
In addition to its work in various research and development projects, the Seminar for Media Education teaches within the undergraduate and postgraduate teacher training programmes as well as other (media) education-related degree programmes.
Finally, the work at the seminar is also put up for discussion in the form of analogue and digital interaction formats - self-critical, participative and at eye level with all those involved and interested in the context of media education.
