Having the ability to evaluate scientific and technical developments in their societal contexts is an integral part of one's literacy in modern Europe.

The acquisition of scientific knowledge is a prerequisite for choosing a lot of occupational fields. Hence the understanding of science comprises more than book knowledge but also the understanding of science as a cultural activity with its own implicit set of rules.

Understanding science as a culture therefore is the leitmotif of a lot of our projects, research and of course teaching.
