Head of the Project

Prof. Dr. Christof Roos

Christof Roos is the project director. He teaches at the Europa-Universität Flensburg in the field European Studies and at the study program Economy and Politics. He previously worked in the Cluster Migration and Diversity at the Institute for European Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the FG Joint Research Centre of European Commission in Ispra (Italy) and the Department for European Affairs of the Senate Chancellery of the State Berlin. Since 2017 he is the ethics reviewer for the European Research Council. His research interests include EU migration politics, freedom of movement, Schengen-Convention as well as European refugee politics.

Project staff University of Bremen

Dr. Martin Seeliger

Martin Seeliger is a research fellow and the Head of the Department ‘Transformation of the Work Society’ at the Institute of Labour and Economy, University of Bremen. He is a project partner. Martin Seeliger studied sociology at the Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany) and graduated (magna cum laude) from the Max Planck Institute for Social Research (Germany) with the work ‘Social Construction of Organized Interests. Trade union policy in the process of European integration’. He also recently completed his habilitation on the topic ‘Negotiated Globalization’. Previously he was working as a research fellow at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Vienna, Europa-Universität Flensburg and Hamburg University.

His research interests are related to labour and organisational sociology, political sociology, cultural studies, including works on collective labour relations, economic crises, digitalisation, institutional change of political economies and the structural change of the public.
