Deutschlandstipendium 2024 / German Scholarship 2024

87 students from Europa-Universität Flensburg and Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and their sponsors were honored at an award ceremony for the Deutschlandstipendium.

On October 15th, 87 students from Europa-Universität Flensburg and Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and their sponsors were honored at the Deutschlandstipendium Award ceremony. Among these were also students of the B.A. European Cultures and Society (EUCS).

Regardless of what their focus is, these students are shaping the world of tomorrow with their actions. This is because they not only achieve outstanding results in their studies, but are also involved in NGOs for sustainability, volunteering for primary school children, in sports clubs, university politics or caring for people in need of care. Over the next twelve months, they will be supported by the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship.

With their commitment, the scholarship holders are taking responsibility and showing that the future is not just a question of technical ability, but also of social commitment, according to the President of Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, Dr. Sven Tode. He also emphasized that the scholarship holders are shaping the world of tomorrow: "They are the ones who will turn concepts and visions into real progress that will change our lives and sustainably improve our society."

Prof. Dr. Werner Reinhart also paid tribute to the outstanding achievements of this year's scholarship holders. However, the President of Europa-Universität Flensburg also made it clear: "Outstanding achievements alone are not a sign of quality: in today's world, they must be complemented by the ability to work in a team, a change of perspective, civic engagement and a balance of criticism and self-criticism."

These are skills that are required in the world of work, according to the donating entities that sponser the Deutshlandstipendium.

The scholarship amounts to 300 euros per student, per month for the duration of one year. This scholarships are funded partly by the German federal government, which launched the scholarship program in 2011 for talented and high-achieving students, and partly by sponsors from the business world.
