No software lasts forever. Even when Studiport was introduced, it was clear that EUF would eventually need a new generation of software. That time has now come. We are gradually migrating the functions of the old "Studiport" into the new "EUF Portal". But that's not all. In the coming months and years we'll also activate new, helpful, and convenient functions. Stay tuned and check back here - we'll keep you informed!
Studiport won't disappear immediately. With so many functions, configurations, and underlying processes, it can't be replaced with just one click. So for the time being and in the years to come, Studiport and the EUF Portal will coexist - and you can use the same login credentials for both portals. Gradually, you'll gain access to more and more processes within the new EUF Portal.
Login credentials: How can I log into the new EUF Portal?
This is the best part: Just use your existing Studiport username and password!
Want to change the shared password for both portals? Now you can do this in the "EUF Portal". Your new password will automatically sync with both portals. The next day, it will be also be available in Studiport.
Studiport and EUF Portal are only the tip of the iceberg. Behind these web interfaces lies a huge collection of software products used by universities in Germany manage academics, teaching, research, and the entire campus. Such systems are called campus management systems. Among these, the most widely used one is the Higher Education Information System (HIS).
Studiport belongs to the older HIS generation, while the EUF Portal belongs to the new HISinOne generation. HIS products span nearly every aspect of campus management, similar to how SAP permeats industry. This is why transitioning from old to new cannot be done overnight. The process takes many years and is greatly simplified here.
The initial building blocks of the HIS campus management system date back to the 1990s. They cover many areas of campus management, including student affairs, staff, teaching, rooms, and buildings at Flensburg. While Studiport was introduced later as a web interface, it is based on the technical standards of the early 2000s.
A few years ago, when the old systems began showing signs of wear and tear, the university decided to introduce the newest software generation, called "HISinOne." At our university, this web interface is called the "EUF Portal."
Transitioning into such a comprehensive campus management system is like starting over from zero. Costs are high, and the process requires substantial human resources. IT has to lay the foundation for the new system, and administration must be heavily involved and must adapt its existing processes— which offers opportunities for improvement.
Experience from many other German universities shows that introducing HISinOne under these conditions can only be carried out in a gradual, step-by-step manner. This is why the overall process lasts several years.
Well, actually both: "HISinOne" is the manufacturer's name for the software solution we'll be using from now on. It includes many modules, each with its own name (STU, EXA, APP, and RES).
To avoid burdening our students with complex names and abbreviations, and because the name "Studiport" (https://studiport.uni-flensburg.de) was well-received in the past, we decided to give the new system its own specific name: EUF Portal (https://eufportal.uni-flensburg.de).
In short: everyone will know what you mean whether you say "EUF Portal" or "HISinOne" - and both are correct. ;)
Simply put: With your existing Studiport username and password.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
With your enrollment documents, you received two different types of login data:
- Your network access data for accessing your university email, Wi-Fi, computer rooms, etc.
- Your login credentials for Studiport. Now, you can use this username and password to access the EUF Portal. You can try it out here: https://eufportal.uni-flensburg.de
And by the way: If you want to change your Studiport and EUF Portal password (it's the same for both), you can now do so centrally in the EUF Portal. After you change it, it takes until the next day for it to be usable in Studiport as well.
Currently, this is normal. Please wait until the next day; in the meantime, you can use your old password for Studiport.
Why does this happen? When you change the shared password for both Studiport"and EUF Portal within the new EUF Portal, the old Studiport doesn’t automatically know this yet. The new password isn't transferred to Studiport until the nightly synchronization process has occurred. Until then, your old password remains valid in Studiport - even though you can already use the new one in the EUF Portal.
But don't worry: We will have a perfect solution for you in the first quarter of 2025. We’ll keep you informed!
Studiport will remain active until August 2029. All students whose studies are subject to a "Studiport Examination Regulation" can continue to use Studiport through the end of their studies, until August 2029 at the latest.
At the same time, new students who in our "Teaching and Examination" programs will do so entirely through the new portal, starting with single-subject bachelor's programs in Fall Semester 2025, the Bachelor's in Educational Science in Fall Semester 2026, and the master's programs in Fall Semester 2027.
These new students will register for exams through the EUF Portal, while existing students will continue to use Studiport.
For the "Teaching and Examination" area, this will lead to a gradual shift away from Studiport and into the EUF Portal by 2029.
