Profile
The master's program builds on the basic business and methodological knowledge you acquired in your bachelor's degree (see the "Admission requirements" tab here). Management topics are complemented by interdisciplinary and international content in the area of intercultural communication, ethics, interdisciplinary competencies, deepening your foreign language skills (English or Spanish, in the case of a double degree possibly Danish) and much more.
The area of key qualifications comprises the areas of research competence (SQ1), interdisciplinary competences and personal development (SQ2) and international competence (incl. language competence) (SQ3).
The special feature of the full-time degree program is the four elective concentrations, which allow students to develop individually and professionally depending on their prior knowledge:
- Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management is dedicated to the development of professional competencies that correspond in particular to the specific requirement profile of small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Strategy & Organization focuses on topics of organizational design and strategy development.
- Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management analyzes the actors in an organization and the design of working conditions from a behavioral science perspective.
- Marketing & Media Management is dedicated to questions of customer communication, media planning and advertising, with a special focus on new media, against the background of a pronounced market orientation.
The practical relevance is ensured by voluntary internships, project work, cooperation with companies as well as top-class lecturers. Topics of the practical phase can be deepened as master theses.
You have the possibility to enroll for the cross-border study in cooperation with SDU.
The double master is composed of the M.A. International Management Studies at the European University Flensburg (EUF) and the Danish Cand. Merc. Int. (CMI), also called M.Sc. in Business, Language and Culture, at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Danish language proficiency is not required. However, note the required English proficiency at SDU.
Note: SDU courses are fee-based for non-EU citizens.
As part of your studies, you will attend classes at Syddansk Universitet (SDU) in Sønderborg (DK) every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For the specially arranged bus shuttle, which takes you from Flensburg city center to the Danish campus, we charge a contribution towards expenses of approx. 80 € per semester (subject to change). On the other days of the week, the courses take place on the campus of the European University in Flensburg.

Students who are not pursuing the dual degree and/or are enrolled at SDU may also have the opportunity to take individual courses at SDU in Sønderborg.

Are you interested in a double degree in cooperation with Syddansk Universitet?
More information on the double master's program can be found here.
In order to be accepted in the double master and thus to be able to obtain two degrees with only one study program, you first apply at only one of the two universities for a place in the respective master program. The normal application deadline at SDU is 01.02. for non-EU citizens and 01.03. of the respective year for EU citizens (start of studies every fall semester).
If possible, it is recommended to apply to SDU first. After a successful application process, you will be given the opportunity to additionally enroll at EUF and thus be able to study at both universities.
The regular application period at EUF is 15.05. to 15.07. If the application period at SDU has already expired, you can apply for a place in the M.A. International Management Studies during the regular application period at EUF. If there are remaining places at SDU and you meet the requirements for the Danish program, you can then register at SDU to take the double master.
In order to study the double master, you must meet the admission requirements of both master's programs.
