Promoting Academic Success and Labor Market Integration of International Talents (FIT)

Overview

The project FIT@EUF promotes the integration of international talents into studies and the job market. The Europa-University Flensburg has raised around 1.1 million euros for this purpose. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the International Experts Campus Initiative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Objectives/Goals

The aim of the project FIT@EUF is to recruit international students for a full degree course in Germany, to accompany them successfully through their studies, to prepare them for professional life and to network them with future employers. In this way, FIT@EUF aims to meet the challenges of demographic change and the associated shortage of skilled workers in Germany and the region. Im Projekt FIT@EUF werden folgende Ziele verfolgt:

  • increasing the number of international students enrolled
  • ensuring the success of students
  • increasing employability
  • strengthening networks in the world of work

Modules/Compenents

The project is divided into four modules that are geared towards the need for high-quality support and training:

1. FITforEUF module includes, among other things, the establishment of a stakeholder forum as well as measures

to support students in the application process, preparing for entry and arriving in Germany.

2. In the subsequent FITforSTUDY module, additional German language courses are offered alongside specialist tutorials

3. In the FITforWORK module, training courses to prepare for starting a career in Germany as well as extensive

information material are designed and implemented.

4. Finally, the FITforNETWORK module involves networking the EUF and international students with stakeholders from

business, politics, the public sector and the cultural and educational sector.
