The Digital Learning Campus (DLC) is a new type of education and learning programme throughout Schleswig-Holstein. In a network spanning universities, adult education centres and companies, future skills are accessible to all.
The Seminar for Media Education at the EUF is involved in this network in several ways: Firstly, through the learning programme offered at the physical learning centre in Flensburg, and secondly through its involvement in the coordination and development unit DLC development hub.
Here we explain what these terms mean, how the Digital Learning Campus, the DLC learning centres and the DLC Development Hub work, and how you can participate, learn and help shape them.

The Digital Learning Campus: Learning. Future. Together.
The Digital Learning Campus (DLC) is a low-threshold, barrier-sensitive and free educational programme for all people in Schleswig-Holstein, whether pupils, students, employees of companies, senior citizens or other groups of people.
Here, future skills can be learnt and practised, new networks established and ideas and projects developed that generate innovations for the economy and society.
In addition to the participating universities, the DLC is supplemented by expertise from companies, research institutions, non-profit educational institutions and civil society organisations. Under the motto ‘Learning future together’, physical learning centres are set up so far in Heide, Flensburg, Schleswig, Kiel, Bad Oldesloe and Lübeck, which will also offer a wide range of teaching and learning opportunities on topics and technologies of the future on the DLC platform. With the combination of physically and digitally located learning and collaboration opportunities, the DLC is creating a new educational ecosystem for everyone in Schleswig-Holstein.

The EUF as part of the DLC
The whole of Schleswig-Holstein as a campus: On the one hand, the DLC consists of a digital learning and collaboration platform. On the other hand, it is made up of a series of physical learning and collaboration locations networked via the platform, which are, among others, located at many university locations in Schleswig-Holstein.
Europa-Universität Flensburg is involved in this hybrid learning project in several ways. On the one hand, it provides one of the physical learning centres of the DLC and offers an exciting learning and education programme on site with the AILiSH learning location network. Secondly, the EUF is involved in the development and coordination of the DLC via the DLC Development Hub.

About the DLC Development Hub - the coordinating management unit
The DLC Development Hub is jointly responsible for the coordination and development of the DLC. It forms the central, representative hub of the DLC, linking the various stakeholders involved - both in terms of content and structure.
The DLC Development Hub consists of the Europa Universität Flensburg (EUF), the Technische Hochschule Lübeck (THL) and the Leibniz-Institut für die Pädagogik der Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik (IPN). The DLC development hub pursues the goal of shaping the formative pillars in a partnership-based, interdisciplinary and collaborative way.
Specifically, the EUF in the DLC development hub is responsible for coordinating, managing and networking all DLC learning centres and their consortium partners at a meta-level. The aim is to work out the thematic orientation and content of the educational programmes offered by the learning locations in order to enable the highest possible degree of transparency about their complementarity and differences, which helps to strengthen the cross-university work in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The following core concerns characterise the activities of the EUF project team in the DLC:
· assume interface functions,
· Provide support and funding,
· facilitate networking and exchange,
· pursue quality assurance,
· support further development.
The EUF team of the Development Hub in Flensburg and Kiel
In addition to Flensburg, the EUF team of the Development Hub is also located in Kiel. Dr Claudia Obermeier, Christiane Schätzle, Anna Rüscher and Tristan Thietz are happy to personally welcome visitors at both locations who would like to exchange information about the DLC. The Kiel office is located on the fourth floor of the Wissenschaftszentrum:

The Learning Centers of the Digital Learning Campus (DLC)
The following brief portraits provide an insight into the focal points and visions of the six DLC learning centers:
AILiSH stands for ‘Artificial Intelligence Literacy and Computational Thinking in Schleswig-Holstein’. At the DLC, we translate this as ‘Skills acquisition in the field of artificial intelligence and computational thinking’. But what do we mean by ‘artificial intelligence’? And what does ‘computational thinking’ mean?
The Europa Universität Flensburg (EUF), Hochschule Flensburg (HSFL) and NORDAKADEMIE in Elmshorn (NAK) are working together in AILiSH. We want to familiarise many people with the topics of AI, computational thinking and digital skills. To this end, we offer joint learning programmes for: - Teachers and school classes. - Employees in companies and administrations. - People from culture and business. - Interested members of the public.
Together, we design various AILiSH learning locations in Schleswig-Holstein, where (prospective) teachers or classes from general and vocational schools, employees in companies and organisations in education, business, administration and culture as well as interested citizens can acquire skills for the digital world and the responsible use of new technologies.
As a university network, we are united by the desire to make AI and computational thinking accessible to everyone. Together, we organise various AILiSH learning centres in Schleswig-Holstein. Here you can try out things and technologies in a playful way - regardless of your previous knowledge. The EUF and HSFL are developing these learning spaces on the joint campus at the DLC learning centre in Flensburg: the CreAItive Lounge, the FabLab IDEENREICH and the CreAItive Space. Here you can get to know the diversity of AI and computational thinking in a creative and practical way. This includes AI techniques such as machine learning, algorithms and big data. Our aim is for people to understand how AI works and how they can use it responsibly - at work, in everyday life and in society.
The west coast is changing: an economically weak region is becoming an important area of industrial growth. The Fachhochschule Westküste (FHW) wants to help shape this change. Together with the Volkshochschule Heide and opencampus.sh in Kiel, we have formed a strong alliance. In this way, we connect the east and west coasts and offer education on sustainable topics throughout Schleswig-Holstein.
Lifelong learning for all - trying out new technologies
CampusNET is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations' Agenda 2030. We want to make a sustainable contribution to the development of the region. The focus is on sustainability, digitalisation, the energy transition and new forms of work. CampusNET brings people from science and business together. We promote the development of talent through new learning formats and focus on the needs of tomorrow's working world.
Connecting the North Sea coast and the Baltic coast
· Modern learning centres, makerspaces and digital learning environments with barrier-free access for exploring and trying out things
· Innovation Labs: work together with experts on projects on current business issues
· Future Skills Programmes: teach you a wide range of skills - from digital and technological to transformative skills. Transformative skills are skills that are necessary to solve major social problems - for example in the areas of social affairs, the environment or democracy. They help people to recognise these problems, develop new, future-oriented solutions and have the courage to convince others of these ideas.
· Innovative, inter- and transdisciplinary programmes: Certificate courses, micro-degrees, think tanks and challenges in which you work together with founders and entrepreneurs
· Themed events, e.g.
· AI/AI Builders Arena
· Citizen science apps
· Teaching of programming languages
The Digital Learning Culture Art Lab (DLC Art Lab) combines digital learning with culture and design. The aim is to give more people access to new technologies and enable them to participate in digital development. The Muthesius Kunsthochschule, the Stiftung Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesmuseen (Schleswig-Holstein State Museums Foundation) and the Anscharcampus in Kiel are working together to create an inspiring learning environment.
The DLC Art Lab offers 3 learning programmes at different locations
1. Tiny Design School: A mobile design school that offers practical learning programmes on design and digital design at changing locations.
2. Muthesius Media Lab: A place for researching and applying modern digital technologies. New approaches in design research are developed here and put into practice in creative projects.
3. Digital Citizens Space: An exhibition space that is accessible in the museum and online. Digital and hybrid exhibitions take place here.
The DLC Art Lab offers a wide range of learning opportunities: Workshops and seminars on design research, but online courses are also included. There is also the ‘AI Salon’, a regular dialogue on artificial intelligence. In the DLC Art Lab, participants learn creative and technical skills in interactive formats. It incorporates social and ecological topics. In this way, the DLC Art Lab promotes sustainable design and makes education accessible to all.

‘Lübeck learns the future’ is the learning centre network around Lübeck's universities. Together, we are developing a wide range of learning programmes to improve digital skills. From acquiring, deepening and applying future skills, we make people fit for the future.
The Lübeck learning centre is where the population is: the courses are offered at many locations in the Hanseatic city. For example, in the ‘Übergangshaus’ (old Karstadt building) or on the campuses of Lübeck's universities. Venues outside the city are also involved with their rooms. These include the digitisation and sustainability centre in Bad Oldesloe.
SEE-digital is a network for further education. It is organised by the learning location network around Kiel University of Applied Sciences. SEE-digital offers free learning programmes on future technologies and new applications. The courses are aimed at different target groups and promote co-operation. SEE-digital supports the exchange of ideas, knowledge and technologies between the participants. This allows everyone to work together on solutions to current issues or problems. The courses take place at various locations: At the universities of applied sciences in Kiel and Altenholz, at adult education centres (VHS), in mobile locations, at Offener Kanal Kiel and at the Heinrich Böll Foundation Schleswig-Holstein.
