[Abstract folgt]
Jonah Winn-Lenetsky is the EUF's first Fulbright Visiting Scholar. He is originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has a Ph.D. and Master’s Degree in Theatre from the University of Minnesota. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Performing Arts at the Institute of American Indian Arts. His dissertation titled Common Ground looks at the intersections of race, gender, sexuality and class, in the street performance work of activist groups in the UK and Palestine. Jonah has published on this and other topics in scholarly journals.
His recent work explores threats to the environment and how communities can use performance to conceptualize and address ecosystems. He is also an actor and director whose plays have been produced throughout the US and internationally. Most recently his collaborative productions have examined community-based cultural issues in Northern New Mexico with "Voices from Israel and Palestine", which looked at the similarities and differences between life in the Middle-East and in the Southwest and "12 Switches", a performance that celebrated lowrider culture.
