Dear researchers,
The Research Department and the Research Centers would like to welcome you to the EUF!
We have compiled some selected information for you below, with which we would like to support and facilitate your research projects.
If you have any questions, please contact us using the contact details below!
Research Centers
At the EUF, profile-forming research centers have been established in three focal areas, which offer the researchers conducting research here opportunities for networking, research funding and the promotion of young researchers:
Research Funding
Research funding at the EUF is provided by the research department, the research centers, committees and other institutions at the EUF. To the overview.
Current and ongoing calls for applications for third-party funding, scholarships, research prizes etc. can be found as follows:
- in the research portal
- in the ICES portal
- via the EUF access to the database of the Service Center for Electronic Research Funding Information (ELFI)
- via the EUF access to the newsletter "Informationsdienst Forschung, Internationales, Transfer (FIT)", with which you can subscribe to a newsletter free of charge on definable types of funding, subject areas and broadcasting frequency
The research centers regularly offer information events for:
- new researchers starting at the EUF: the Welcome Forum Research usually takes place annually in September
- MA students interested in a doctorate: annually in the fall semester
- PhD students: annually in the fall semester
- Post docs: annually in the spring semester
If you are interested, please look out for the invitations via the mailing list forschung-PleaseRemoveIncludingDashes-@news.uni-flensburg.de
Further academic training is offered by the following institutions, with a focus on researchers in qualification phases:
- The Graduate Center (GraZ)
- Research Academy Education and other events at ZeBUSS
- ICES Research School and other events at ICES
The Research Data Management department - FDM@EUF offers information and advice on research data management.
International employees can find an overview of selected information on the International Center portal.
Self-organization of doctoral candidates: The EUF's Interdisciplinary Doctoral Network (DokNet) offers networking opportunities, opportunities to represent interests and events.
EUF-Policies
We ask you to observe the following EUF policies and internal procedural regulations:
Good research practice: EUF researchers are obliged to fully comply with the rules of good research practice. These were updated in 07/2024 on the basis of the standards of the German Research Foundation and supplemented by a Special Code of Research.
Ethics vote: The EUF Ethics Committee offers the opportunity to obtain an ethics vote if planned research projects have ethically sensitive aspects or are required by funding bodies, journal publishers, etc. This is to be done at the beginning of the project. Whether this is necessary must be checked and applied for at the beginning of a research project.
Research data: The principles of transparency, visibility, sustainability and quality are required for the handling of research data in accordance with the standards of good research practice. These are defined in more detail in a Senate resolution in 09/2023.
Affiliation guideline: The research services provided at the EUF can only be made comprehensively visible if their institutional affiliation to the EUF is clearly identified. These designations are explained in more detail in the Affiliation Guideline.
ORCID: ORCID is an identification system for researchers that makes it possible to clearly assign the research services they provide. We therefore ask all EUF researchers to register for ORCID and to identify themselves in the PERSIS data.
Third-party funding guidelines: Before submitting a third-party funding application, internal rules on financial auditing and information must be observed. You can find more information on the procedure and the support offered by our advisory team in the third-party funding guidelines.
Research visibility
- Project database: You can create your projects - research projects, doctoral/habilitation projects, etc. - in our central project database and use them for your institute website and enrich them with additional content. We will be happy to provide you with more detailed information if required.
- Research communication: The EUF Communications Office will support you in disseminating your research results via press work, the Informationsdienst Wissenschaft (idw), EurekAlert!, the EUF's social media (Facebook, Instagram), the EUF YouTube channel, etc.
