Spanish Course A2

The Spanish A2 course is suitable for learners with a beginner's level. It builds on the A1 course.

Through everyday conversation topics and situations, the course aims to expand learners' knowledge of Spanish grammar and vocabulary at an advanced beginner level. The vocabulary work focuses on the following topics: learning, health, food, professions, scheduling, the city, historical events, housing, and travel.

The grammar topics covered include: the present indicative of regular verbs, irregular verbs, reflexive verbs, frequency expressions (siempre, todos los días, muchas veces), adverbs of quantity, adjectives, noun gender, impersonal constructions with se, the perfect tense (formation and usage), irregular past participles, expressing opinions, telling time and dates, future-related expressions, and question words. Additionally, learners will work on understanding a radio report, giving a mini-presentation, writing and editing a short story, describing images, and discussing proverbs, among other activities.

The course consists of 4 teaching hours per week during the lecture period and is designed to enable participants to complete level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Regular and active participation is required for successful course completion. Completing homework is also necessary to reinforce and practice the material learned.

The Spanish B1.2 course is suitable for learners with an advanced beginner level. It builds on the B1.1 course.

Through everyday conversation topics and situations, the course aims to expand learners' advanced basic knowledge of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. The vocabulary work focuses primarily on the following topics:

The grammar topics covered include: the use of the simple conditional and the present subjunctive; speculating about different future scenarios or expressing wishes and requests; various uses of the past indicative tenses (particularly preterite, imperfect, and pluperfect); complex use of (in)direct and prepositional objects; the use of periphrastic constructions for a more creative and varied style; expressing tastes, emotions, preferences, values, and opinions, and contrasting them; comparing objects and evaluating them; impersonal and involuntary forms, as well as describing processes using the passive voice; question formation and indirect speech; and expanding vocabulary in the fields of culture, society, education, and economics.

The course consists of 2 teaching hours per week during the lecture period and is designed to enable participants to complete level B1.1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The Spanish B2 course is suitable for learners with advanced basic knowledge. It builds on the B1 course.

Through everyday conversation topics and situations, the course aims to further develop learners' advanced level of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. The vocabulary work focuses primarily on the following skills:

  • Understanding longer speeches and presentations and following complex arguments.
  • Comprehending most news broadcasts, current reports, and films.
  • Communicating spontaneously and fluently, enabling normal conversations with native speakers.
  • Actively participating in discussions on familiar topics, justifying and defending opinions.
  • Providing a clear and detailed presentation on a wide range of topics of interest.
  • Explaining a position on a current issue, including the pros and cons of different options.
  • Reading and understanding articles and reports on contemporary issues.
  • Understanding modern literary prose texts.
  • Writing clear and detailed texts on various topics.
  • Composing essays and arguments for and against a particular standpoint.
  • Expressing the significance of events and experiences in letters.

At the moment, the possibility of inviting Spanish-speaking guests to present and participate in discussions is being explored.

Development of intercultural communication skills in Spanish to enhance professional interactions in work, tourism, and business contexts in Latin America and Spain.
