Researchers in qualification phases play a key role in shaping research at Europa-Universität Flensburg through their research, innovations, and commitment. These qualification phases hold central importance in several respects.
The goal of the Graduate Center is to optimally support researchers in qualification phases to help them advance and complete their research projects, strengthen their skills, and prepare them for career opportunities both within and outside of academia.
As an interdisciplinary graduate center, we support doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and junior professors through targeted interdisciplinary qualification offerings that complement those of the academic faculties, flagship research centers, and other institutions at Europa-Universität Flensburg that support early-career researchers.
The core tasks and responsibilities of GraZ are:
- To transparently announce all resources, events, and offerings for researchers in qualification phases at Europa-Universität Flensburg
- To design and conduct an interdisciplinary training program to help researchers develop and strengthen interdisciplinary skills relevant to their qualifications and careers
- To implement quality assurance measures for our own services and program offerings
GraZ offers comprehensive orientation and group-specific support for all academics in the doctoral phase (R1), the postdoctoral phase (R2) and the tenure-track- phase (R3) (phases 1-4 see ERA-Framework). In three different qualification areas, qualifications for the development and expansion of career-relevant skills in research and science are taught, which are relevant in the different qualification phases and prepare for career and professional paths within and outside of academia.
