GraZ I AI powered approaches to Academic Self-Editing and Translation
RIG401
What are the limitations and possibilities of AI in academic communication? How can we use such tools wisely to enhance, rather than replace, our own expert contribution when translating and editing our own texts?
Join EUF's in-house academic editor and translator for a glimpse into the world of AI technologies as they intersect with the fields of academic editing and translation. Emphasizing the crucial role of human expertise when working with software like Deepl and ChatGPT, we'll explore how professionals use these tools to boost the efficiency, speed, and quality of their work. We'll identify standard and experimental practices, discuss ethical considerations, and examine the pros and cons of using these technologies in academic contexts.
Practical rather than deeply technical, the workshop combines presentation, group discussion, and hands-on experimentation. The goal is to create a relaxed, collaborative space where participants actively share their own ideas and experiences of AI-assisted processes.
Participants should bring a laptop with internet access.
